Myspace page is private however i want to put a color on it when people come across it they see some

I know its possible to add color on your myspace page even though its private i dont want people to get into my page however when a person is not my friend and click on my page i want it to show up black or purple something like that but still remain private ive seen a few pages like this so its possible but does anyone out there know how thanks so much everyone xoxo

I have always had Myspace set to PRIVATE since signup and have not yet added people, but showed up PUBLIC when I did a recent search. Changed it back to PRIVATE.

Anyone else encounter this? I know it's not hacking and don't have friends added yet. My guess is it is a Myspace glitch. I have written to them about this but have not yet received a response.

Yes i think its a myspace glitch. The best i suggest you do is clear your cookies and temp files and retry it. but if it is myspace glitch than you have nothing to worry about. its not our pc's fault XD. and good thing you wrote to myspace about it.

Find the music on the artist on your choices profile by clicking on the Music link on the top bar of your myspace. When you find the artist you want find the song, Then click add and it will put it on your profile.

To make your profile look cool, go to google and search for myspace layouts. You will get whole lot of sites and can find the layout you want. After you find it get the html code provided and post it in the about me section of your profile! And your all done.

The music you can get if from myspace. There should be a tab at the top of the screen that says music and from there you can search by artist or even title of the song you want. On every artists page they will have a music box in the upper right hand side and in the box of each music title there will be different options, one tab will say add, click it and it will add it to your profile.

For backgrounds, I usually get mine from tennayalayouts (I'm not sure if thats the direct web site but you can just search it in yahoo and it will come up)... you can also just do a general search in yahoo or google for myspace backgrounds and a tons of websites dedicated to editing your profile will come up. All websites are the same, once you find a background or anything you like you just copy the code it comes with and paste it somewhere in your profile... for backgrounds you usually have to paste it in the about me section.

If you want to add pictures on your page use photobucket... it allows you to add photos and it will create a html code so you can paste it into your profile.

Those will not work anymore. Myspace has pretty much perfected the built-in Friend ID system, so you cannot use those cheap tricks, or the Firefox tricks, any longer.

That's all a thing of the past now. Your only option is to add the person as a friend.

Personally I've never used the profile editor on MySpace. SO I don't know how to direct you there. Instead I use html codes and since I'm not the best at coding I cheat a little and use generators. Here's what I use:

My guess is that you are under 18, in which case, you will automatically be set to private/ If you want ,you can change your birthdate, (not very ethical-they do this for a reason). I occassionally come across "Private" profiles on MySpace. I'm advised to request to become a "friend." I don't necessarily want to be friends, I just want to view the persons profile. Is there a way around this?

I have my myspace account set to private. I know how to do the layouts and all on my actual page. But, if an individual views my page and they are not a contact/friend they are taken to this page......"This profile is set to private. This user must add you as a friend to see his/her profile." .......That is the one I am wanting to add a background to. I know it can be done because I have seen a few of them. But how??

The only way to do that is to edit your actual profile with the Myspace Profile Editor. Any backgrounds, color schemes, or font classes you impose with that editor changes your base code from white to that design, %26amp; so in turn it becomes your private screen also.

In other words, when you see the person's private screen with that layout/background, it is a reflection of what their actual layout looks like! ^-^

I would like to know how you do this. I clicked on a profile for MySpace and it was set to private. Well you know when you see a private page it's white and it has how the user must add you to see their page? I saw a couple pages that were private but the page wasn't white it had a layout type thing replacing all the white. It looked very nice. Now how would you modify your page that way?

myspace have made their own profile editor. when you edit your profile on that, it shows up on private aswell.

to get to it then just go down to where there are quick links (like myspace im, horoscopes, weather etc..) it's on there.

I have had a myspace page for 1 year and have only been hacked once. I think as long as you are careful and don't accept spambots as friends you will be ok. Also, don't have your computer remember your password. As with anything there is a chance you will get hacked but be cautious. Good Luck!!

people get their passwords stolen because they are dumb and sign in on pages that myspace doesnt run like survey that will post it to your page if you give them the password and username. just be smart! holla

You can only get hacked if you give out your password. Most of the time, you don't know that you are doing it, because some sites (which are called "phishing" sites) will have a fake login page and will try to get you to login there so they can have your password.

Just be careful about where you enter your password.

If you think that the page might be phony, then just go to the myspace home page and login from there again.

Yes, you can get private but hackers know some much that they can get thourgh the private blocks there is no sure way to protect your self on myspace from people you dont know just dont put alot of personal info on there.

Listen, I've had my account phished just by clicking on pages of people who requested to be my friend. I know this because I enter my password into one web page, and that's the official myspace sign on page. I am anal about that.

If you've had your account hacked there are a few ways they could have invaded your page. They could have embedded a picture under your picture. You check this by going to edit profile, click on the link at the top right corner called safe mode, then click on the tab for your pictures. Make sure all the pics are yours. If they aren't delete them. You can only tell on safe mode though.

If your friends put comments on your myspace that are for trackers or click here's then delete them as well.

They are also embedding codes in your background and pimping stuff. What you do is before you put the code in save those codes in a word file. If your account is phished log in, delete all the codes, change your password, log out. Log back in and reinsert the saved clean codes.

I'm sure there are other ways, I am in no way an expert, these are just things that I have either been a victim of or read about while trying to clean out my page.

You have to set your profile's background using the Myspace Profile Editor. Any type of background, font styling, or color schemes you save in that editor changes your profile's base code, which causes it to show up on the private screen as well.

Click on the myspace profile editor

click "start"

Click on "BACKGROUND" , then "BACKGROUND IMAGE"

ADD THE URL

7. click "save"

8. then log out and view your page.

Now, if you're talking about profiles with Overlays, there's a way on how to view the whole profile [When they have a few things hidden like friends, comments, and default picture hidden]

yeah, on myspace there is this link on one of Tom's blogs that allows for parents to view their childrens private myspace to see what they are up to. But once you do it you are only allowed a few chances to see these private profiles. They are not unlimited.
