ok i know about the stalker thing but how are you supposed to know if you know them when the pic is so small and half the time i don't know their last name or e-mail, it just frustrates me because im looking for peole and cant see if its them on that tiny photo.

Well first of all, it is for security reasons. Sometime people even put their addresses in there. They want only the people who know them to see their profile.
Also, a lot of teanagers make profile and they don't want anyone of their family to see their profile or they will be in trouble.
Some of the murders and rapes, especially in the US, have happened because the person shared their profile with some criminal and got in trouble.
